My resolution is to write here once a week, every Wednesday. I’m doing this in response to the class action suits against AI, in which many authors, including myself, are involved. (If you have an interest in what those entail, you can read the details on the Authors Guild website here.) And, since one of the suits includes Meta, apart from wishing people “happy birthday,” or sharing fact-checked posts and videos about the inexoriable march to a dictatorship the United States is on, a march which too many people don’t seem to realize is taking place even though they’re being pushed right along, I’m here instead of on Fartfacebook, here, on my good old-fashioned WordPress blog, set up for me eons ago, where parameters have now been put in place so that my words cannot be pirated. (At least, one can hope). It’s just one small way I’m “resisting”… or trying to.
Not today. I have no will to fight our impending doom today. Not when the highest court in the land has become a tool of a president who is looting the US Treasury with the help of the fanatical purveyors of Project 2025, who are running our Constitution through a shredder; not when said “leaders of the free world” are supporting several foreign invasions, and at least two genocides that I can count, not while right here in the USA, this whole cabal is spending billions of our tax dollars for domestic raids on innocent people, while calling those who are protesting against all of this “terrorists.”
Yeah, I can’t feel the rebel call to resist all that today. The best I can do today is cry while I write.
And pray for my strength to return so I can fight again tomorrow.
