Nepal is in the midst of what appears to be a genuine revolution against a corrupt government. Gen-Z Nepalese have chosen their new leader via a poll on a Discord server. Their new leader is expected to meet the Army Chief to form a new interim government to hold new elections.
Whether this will work or become a tragedy remains to be seen, but the crucial thinh here is that the young people there put aside their differences and banded together.
Something to think about.
That’s inspiriting! The oligarchy wants us to be divided, and all sides are delirious with their individual fevers. When we can’t get Americans to agree that sex trafficking and pedophilia are bad, that quashing free speech is wrong, that our Constitution and the law matter…
I agree. I don’t know if we will ever see democracy back in our lifetimes. I feel sorry for everyone under the age of sixty, honestly, They’re lives are now on a very different trajectory. But they won’t see until it affects them, personally, everything from their retirement funds to the opportunities they will miss, to the glory of what the world and various cultures have to offer to a mind that wishes to be enriched rather than dominated.
